If you have been watching the News over the last few weeks, I’m sure that you have seen or heard about the water crisis going on in Flint, Michigan. I think we can all agree that no matter how it happened, getting safe and clean water to Flint is a must.
A few weeks ago our very own Farrell-Bell had the opportunity to team up with Tindley Summit Academy in efforts to help our neighbors in Flint, Michigan. They collected donations from local companies, figured out the best way to get the donations to Flint, and then started collecting as much water as they could.
Here is what Treva Davis, Farrell-Bell’s Property Manager, had to say about the water drive:
Due to the Flint water issue, my daughter’s school, Tindley Summit Academy, was taking water donations. I wanted to help so I spoke to the office to see if Farrell-Bell residents could also get involved.
Over the next few weeks we were able to collect a total of 2,802 bottles of water to send to Flint.
We rise by lifting others.
This was the driving force that allowed everyone involved to roll up their sleeves and get to work. It’s amazing what can happen when a handful of people get together to help their neighbors.
It might not fix the entire problem, but we hope it helps the people of Flint to know others care.
We’re here for you.
